I’m beautiful.

It’s hard to say, and it’s hard to hear. But every woman strives for it, in her own way.

We see the world of beauty through “I needs” and “I wants.” I need to lose 10 pounds, I want new shoes. I need to pluck my eyebrows, I want a better tan. I need him to notice me, I want to feel beautiful.

But true beauty is woven into our beings. We can’t earn it or lose it, because it’s a part of all of us.

That fact alone brings freedom, hope and joy, and we want the women in our community to know it. That’s what Being Bella  is:  for all women to find, embrace and celebrate our own unique beauty. For information on submitting written pieces or art work, click here.

Beauty can be yoga pants and ponytails, lip liner and mascara, strength, gentleness, an animated laugh or a mere whisper. It’s fun, it’s serious, but above all, it’s real. We’re all beautiful.
